"Pride of Purt la Morra" by The Stationary Willberries
Blues, Folk, Country, Oldies done the Isle of Man way! Why are they stationary ? Some say that they don't travel, and indeed they are at home in "The Mitre", a welcoming hostelry in Kirk Michael on the west coast of the Isle of Man, just across the water from Ireland. However you will sometimes find them far away from their island home. Yeah, it's not often I find Celtic folk songs from outside Ireland and Scotland, but I was really happy when The Stationary Willberries introduced me to "Pride of Purt la Morra" which means "The Pride of Port St. Mary", a fun Manx song about a big headed man who is capable of anything and sure of his status in the community. With some rousing sing-along-able lyrics and tasty accordian bits. "The Stolen Child" by Woodland
In the Fall of 1999, after 4 years of performing at West Coast festivals and touring with Celtic rock band Spirit Union, Kelly and Emilio Miller-Lopez started writing and production for a new and unusual project. Kelly's background in Celtic myth and Shakespearean theatre, and Emilio's skills as a songwriter and music producer converged to create the mythical music of Woodland. "The Stolen Child" is a from a live performance that does a nice job showing off their style which sounds very much influenced by Loreena McKennit's more mystical music. Celtic New Age with a lot of World musical influence, gorgeous ethereal vocals, you can hear their fae inspiration with CD covers even designed by Brian and Wendy Froud. "Sir Pervival's Quest" by Siler & Clarc
Siler & Clarc is one of the most exciting musical teams to come along in quite a while. A very diversified duo that performs Folk, Celtic, Classic Rock, and other music styles, complimenting their vocal harmonies. Two Long at the Faire by Siler & Clarc"Sir Pervival's Quest" is a comical folk song from this Ren Faire duo about a knight gone in search of the dragon... and loses. Delightfully entertaining group!
