Review: "Symphony From The Ghost Ship" by Angus Mohr Highland rock at its best--seriously. I really love this CD and remembered this musical sound right away from listening to the last one I reviewed, "The Heroic Adventures Of Angus Mohr". Fine pipes and blasting energy, this is an album of full sound, meant to be played loud and enjoyed immensely. It makes you want to dance around furiously. That can't be said of too many CDs really, so it is something to savor. A tossed salad of punk, Celtic and rock influences, the music doesn't sit neatly in one genre, but picks and chooses what it likes from each. Add to that the Highland backbone and you have a recipe for flavorful music that won't allow you to walk away without experiencing it. It almost demands that of you. And if you think I'm being melodramatic--try it out yourself. You'll see what I'm saying. Crank the volume, put on "Paddy's Leather Breeches" and see what this is all about. You'll find a few covers here, among them nods to both AC/DC and Dylan; but you'll also hear some originals. A nice mix that keeps things going. Not all of it is "hardcore," but it's all good.
