"And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda" by The Black Irish
The Black Irish (Austin, Texas) began in November 2004. Irish Punkabilly that will make you want to smash someone over the head with a Guinness bottle and cry for Willy McBride (who died in the great Irish war of 1916) while combing back your pompadour. The Black Irish is influenced by numerous genres mostly driving Traditional Irish punk rock with a hint of hillbilly American flavor. "There's nothing in this town like you guys. This is like a breath of fresh air... You are exactly what this town needs."- Chris Grady -Austin booking agent/producer. In short (or long) Are you ready to rock Austin!?!? The Black Irish now playing in a venue near you. From residencies at nation wide Irish pub chain Fado, to legendary punk rock bar Beerland, Tiki bar Headhunters, and Austin's Spill dance club, To reggae bar Flamingo Cantina...
