Michael Murphy and the Shannon River Band offers a high-energy display of their Celtic roots, blended with leading-edge elements of bluegrass and jam-rock styles. The band's original and traditional music blends sounds from the Dubliners, Wolfetones, Bill Monroe, Ricky Scaggs, Phish and Dave Mathews. Both old and young, traditional and modern can't resist this rhythm and improvisation-infused approach to traditional Celtic music.

This connection with audiences through music comes through loud and clear on the band's 2004 self-titled release. Music from the album has been featured on-air, with consistent play on WEDO 810AM.
