"March of the King of Laois" by Contea
The band was formed in 1998, as a folk laboratory, to study and perform fok music from all europe, with music wink from asia (with some using of tabla or tampura). The choice of songs was always been directed on rebel music from all europe. This kind of choice lead the band to a studio work in 2004, "Il Campo dei Ribelli" (the Rebel Camp), with music from all those people that fought against the first ideas of imperialism in europe, there are songs from Scotland, Vandea, South of Italy and Russia. In top af all we love Irish music and we play it a lot! For those who can't read Italian: Also know as "Rory O'Moore" and "Rory of the Hills, this old melody was always assocaited with the O'Moore family and was composed as a homage to Ruairi Og O Mordha, who was the head ohousehold in the sixteenth century and a famous hero of the anti-English resistance at that time. The Laois word is pronounced "Lish".
