This is a fun album that is easy to recommend. Take your favorite Irish pub songs and add the spin of a group named "Beatnik Turtles" and you can imagine what could happen....

And happen it does! Take these faves and add some truly rocked-out arrangnements and it makes for a really fun ride. This Chicago band has a full horn section and has been playing for 11 years, so you know they can really do their thing. The fun part is discovering what this band has decided to do with songs such as "Finnegan's Wake" and "Mary Mac". Tune in--and be surprised!

The best part is that if you like this band, there's plenty more where this came from. They are prolific in terms of recording, having released a song every day in 2007. That's a whole lot of music to choose from. These guys are a true "indie" band and aren't afraid to get in there and mix it up when it comes to trying new things and playing their hearts out. Highly recommended. I'll be keeping my eye on this band...
