Established in the year 2000, The Wild Clover Band has quickly become a regional favorite for its version of traditional Irish folk music, which blends the Celtic styles with jazz, bluegrass, classical and rock influences.
Because of this fusion of styles, The Wild Clover Band advertises themselves as “Irish Music and More.” Playing in a local pub, the group began primarily as an instrumental group focusing on Irish and American fiddle tunes. They have now evolved into a group that specializes in Irish dance tunes, pub songs, and ballads and has played festivals, community concerts, pubs, and private functions throughout the state of Nebraska, as well as Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, and South Dakota.
The band features a wide array of instruments including mandolin, fiddle, bass, banjo, bouzouki, guitar, penny whistle, flute, bodhran and accordion. This versatile instrumentation has allowed the band to explore the Irish genre and expand on its “and More” component by adding some non-Irish tunes to their repertoire including selections from the rock, jazz, country and bluegrass genres.
This versatility and excellent musicianship has gained the band a strong local following and has made them very marketable. If you get the chance to see The Wild Clover Band, it is a safe bet that you will be thoroughly entertained.
